It's a very interesting product. Personally, I'm much more interested in the setting than the mechanics but, with the OGL debacle putting OSE on somewhat uncertain (or at least unexamined) ground, tweaking the established mechanics to create a new free-and-clear system is an undeniably easy call for Necrotic Gnome to make.
